Texas Geocaching Association

The purpose of our association is to promote the sport of Geocaching in Texas via improved communication and to provide information to the public about our activities and the sport of geocaching.

Austin Explorer--Geocaching section

Geocaching is a pastime in which caches of items are hidden in non-obvious places and their location posted for others to find. The longitude and latitude are published, sometimes with additional hints. Hunters with GPS receivers then venture to the site and try to find the container. Sign the log book in the cache and exchange an item.

Southeast Texas Geocachers

Our purpose is to plan geocaching events that are open to all. We encourage anyone traveling in the area to join any of our scheduled events. We try to keep members informed and updated through our web page and meetings which are usually about every 6 to 8 weeks. We find it interesting to talk to others and share our knowledge.

Greater Abilene Geocachers Association (GAGA)

The Greater Abilene Geocachers Association began January 22nd, 2005, as an endeavor to provide the area's Geocaching community and visitors an interactive hub of information and support. The "GAGA Group" is comprised of individuals and teams that work together to promote the benefits of Geocaching, and to find and hide as many quality caches as possible.

We are committed to working with Big Country communities to promote and preserve the unique history of our area. Also, through placing an abundance of quality caches, we aim to increase local tourism by bringing people to our communities as a "Caching Destination".

In addition, this GAGA website provides a "West Texas friendly" outlet to discuss relevant topics, educate members and visitors, and increase overall awareness of Geocaching community in the Big Country and beyond.
