From Godwin Borg
iFinder Go2

I read Mr. Brian Sniatkowski's comments about the said GPSr and it was a very useful and constructive article. I would like to point out that although the the manufacturer doesn't state that the ifinder Go2 has the capability of data transfer to the computer, there is a data cable for sale for the above item. So I started experimenting with the Go2 and what I found is that it has the capability of doing so.

I connected it to a navigational program and the GPSr started sending NMEA. So far I only tried it on simulation mode and only for a short while because I had no data cable available; I only touched the wires to the GPSr. Furthermore, on the setup menu there is the com port settings for baud rate and NMEA the sentences.

At this point I like to know, is there is really an NMEA data cable ? Does the power cable include the data connection ? Can I get a USB instead of a serial db9 connector? And how much does it cost, and where can I get it?

I am new to this site, but from what I have experienced it is run by professionals; keep up the good work. Thank you.

Dear Mr. Borg,
The Go2 allows for NMEA output. There is also a way to "hack" the unit and download waypoints, but it is quite involved and is not in the manufacturer's manual. Check Geocaching.com's GPS Units and Software forum where this has been discussed in detail.
