The Cache Medics are a small group of dedicated cachers in the Monterey Bay Area of Central California. After a particularly bad year of disabled and archived caches in the area as well as threats from the approvers that caches left disabled for several months would be archived, the local caching community decided to take action. Postings on the local forums gained a sort of consensus amongst the group, but it would be up to each individual member whether to rescue a cache or not. Eventually the Cache Medics account was formed to track our progress and to promote cache rescues in areas outside of our small territory. Below is a rescue done on a particularly scenic but grueling cache on the Big Sur Coast, south of Monterey.
