I want to thank everyone who has sent me toys and candy for the Iraqi kids. Your kind donation has done wonders for relationships between the American Soldiers and the Kurdish/Iraqi People.
There is a town I enjoy going to. The towns people just love when ever we come to visit. I made it a point today to stop in at a Christian girls' grade school to give away the chalk and crayons someone sent me yesterday. The teachers where scared when we showed up at the door with weapons but quickly lowered their defense when we smiled and shook hands with them. The interpereter explained that we had gifts to give to the children. The teachers allowed us to come in and meet the kids. The kids where so happy when I gave away all of the things I was sent in the mail. I even gave away all the soap and shampoo to the teachers, not that they needed it. They were very greatful.
I found out the school only gets about three large pads of paper given to them each year. They save everything. The school was very clean and well maintained. There were even nuns or sisters working there. Each desk had three little girls sitting behind it. The rooms where full too.
Please continue to send the gifts of candy, crayons , chalk, toys, etc and I will make good use of the items you send me. [Editor's note: You may send items to Today's Cacher 560 Gideon Grove Church Road, Stokesdale, NC 27357 and we will forward them to Roy.]
Once again thank you all very much.
