GeoWoodstock III
Look Who Came to Dinner

by Greg Smith aka The Federation

As Mark surveyed the area and the huge gathering of people he thought back to the time when he became known as The Serial Finder*. The trouble and confusion that this sport had caused him seems such a long time ago and yet now, here in Hanna Park surrounded by friends and people he has yet to meet somehow a sense of peace surrounds him. Oh how he hopes another body won’t be found. Sorry folks David Klug caught me up in the latest installment of Serial Finder. IceCream Man, as many of us know him, is just one of the many personalities that will be at GeoWoodstock. By now everyone knows what it is, where it is and when it is so I wanted to use this month’s edition of Today’s Cacher and try to fill in some of the details.

With that purpose in mind I have compiled as near a complete Schedule of Events as possible. Please keep in mind that some of the times may fluctuate slightly and a few more items maybe added but you can pretty much plan your weekend around this schedule. I will be including links to the events and Book Mark lists for the Cache Runs. Since this will be the last Today’s Cacher before the event any last minute updates in May will be found on the GWIII Web page or on the NEFGA Web site. By the time of the event we will have a total list of caches available at the event itself in a Bookmark List so you can maximize your find count. We will have a laptop on site with wireless access and 2 laptops to download any caches for Hanna and the event that you may need.

One last word before I get onto the schedule. I would like to pass on a special word of thanks to all the folks at the Geocaching Web site. They have really stepped up to the plate and helped us out with this event. From tracking the GeoWoodstock coins to opening a store at GW3, I can’t say enough for all the help they have provided. Also to the staff at Today's Cacher for giving us a forum here to help get the word out about the event. This has got to be the most publicized and widely spoken about event in history. Last but not least, to you all, the cachers who have chosen to come to Jacksonville to be with us none of this would be possible without you or would it be necessary for that matter. As of the typing of this article we have over 200 teams of cachers registered and that equates to over 300 people with a month and a half left before the event. We have cachers from one end of the spectrum to the other. We have Bo and Elisabeth coming from Sweden, GeoPirat from Germany, CCCooper Agency will be with us, JoGps from Nashville, we are expecting editors from Today’s Cacher; we will have the famous as well as the infamous. Throw in a few Admins if they will introduce themselves and I think you can see that this is a place that even the Serial Finder could find something to do. Look out you might be next in a story. Oh well enough of the drivel, let’s get onto the schedule.

In closing for anyone who is interested The Florida Cachers who sponsor The Florida Scavenger Hunt will have a special challenge for our visitors. A vote was taken and the competition was close but the members of NEFGA have chosen 10 of the most challenging caches that North Florida has to offer. The challenge will run from May 22nd through June 5th. If any cacher can complete those 10 caches they can also log the Florida Scavenger Hunt.

We look forward to seeing all of you here May 27th through the 29th. If you need any assistance please feel free to contact us. If you really need help sign up on the NEFGA web site and we have a contact list with most of our cell phones listed. Come on down South and join Mark to see if you have what it takes to be a Serial Finder.

*Serial Finder is the creation of a delusional mind and in no way is representative of the membership of NEFGA or the cachers from Florida. NOT!
