This is a magical spot in the Adirondack Park in Northern New York. I stopped off to take this picture on the way to work one cold morning, and was lucky to catch the feel of the place exactly. The air and water are perfectly still, the sun is hard and bright through the trees, and the fog is rising from the water like smoke from a dying fire. I love the birdhouse on the tiny island in the middle of this pond, and the mountain in the distance. I finished my coffee while watching the quiet waters for a couple of minutes before heading off to work, and my day was richer for the experience.
