BADGES (The Bay Area Dining & Geocaching Enthusiasts Society) held their BADGES Picnic #2 May 7th at Stafford Lake County Park in Novato, Calif. It was organized by two of the biggest names in Bay Area geocaching—dgreno and forman, with help from cooperphoto , and the other "deputies" of BADGES.

About 40 people attended, and there was a raffle, games for the kids and a poker run. Lunch, of course, was also served. There were burgers and dogs, sausage, chips, salsa and all the dessert you could want.

Many generous prizes were given out during the raffle, including ammo cans, cache stickers, cache stones, Forman t-shirts and other swag.

For the poker run, cachers had to find the event caches and choose a card from each one. The quicker you found it, the better your choice of cards. Back at the picnic, everyone compared poker hands. The winners were rtm gang and Kablooey. Kablooey is on a streak of wins having won the last poker run as well. The rtm gang are a family of cachers consisting of Darian, River, Trevor, Marissa and Manny. They’ve been caching since August of 2004.

Unfortunately, I got there late. But I'm looking forward to the next BADGES event!
