I got to thinking today about this craze we all have of finding a Tupperware container. Now given the cost that we all pay to find one of these things, it makes me wonder. Consider this. We spend anywhere from $100.00 to $600.00 for a GPSr; this isn’t even counting all the other gear we buy such as backpacks, camelbaks, boots, hiking staffs, and the all important Mc-toy swag. We will spend countless hours and gallons of gas to find this elusive container. We take time out of our busy lives and dedicate hundreds of hours to this.
We will jeopardize our jobs, lives, marriages and social standing to find this thing, And spend ungodly hours on the internet researching and trying to locate this container. We’ll get up early in the morning and stay up late at night to be the first to see the information about this container being placed. We even set up our email to notify us as soon as it’s available.
Another thing I got to thinking about is, even when we find this fabled container, do we get to keep it? Of course not...we get to write that we found it! All of that time and money spent to find it, and we can’t even take it. What’s up with that?
What made me think about this was the other day, there they were. In the wide open, where God or anyone could see them; literally dozens of them sat right there in the center isle of my local Wal-Mart! The cost? $2.95 and the most wonderful part was that I get to keep them!
