And Why Do I Care?
Every April, geocachers around the world get together and clean up their local parks. It is a kind of mantra -- “Cache In, Trash Out.”
It's just one way we can contribute to the maintenance of our outdoor spaces and to say "thanks" to the land managers that help to make our parks a great place for geocaching. This year, Trimble has partnered with Groundspeak to help sponsor Cache In Trash Out Day, April 16.
CITO day is an opportunity for geocachers to help clean up the parks and other cache friendly places throughout the world. Through the volunteer efforts of the geocaching community, we will all help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources. Together, we can make an enormous difference with just a little effort.

This month, there are at least 83 CITO events scheduled around the world. Many of them are actually co-sponsored locally by municipalities or land managers.
Cache In Trash Out doesn't just happen once a year. It can happen on every cache hunt! Just bring a trash bag along with you on your walks in the woods and pick up the occasional piece of trash you see on the trail. Even this small gesture can make a huge difference.
