many with a supernatural twist.
Search for Travel Bugs owned by King Boreas and you'll come up with 81 bugs as of print time. I came across this impressive collection while doing research for our Halloween issue. More information on the "Warrior Women" can be found on the following pages:
What prompted you to create all these interesting bugs?
Travel bugs? How many Mickey Mouse bugs are there? Beanie Babies? Keychains? There must be something different to do? After a few travel bugs released, I found my answer.
Some of them are DC comics characters, yes? Did they spring from an interest in comics or role playing games?
One of my earliest bugs was a Burger King Wonder Woman figure, released a couple years ago. I used to collect comics, and Kenner Super Powers action figures. I didn't want to use any of them, but I went to one of the comic stores I used to visit, looking for used figures. Holy moneybags, Batman ! Those figures are expensive.
Did you concieve of them as one big group all at once, or did you just keep adding them one by one until they got to the current collection?
I'm the original cheapskate. Not knowing if any of these figures would continue to travel, I checked out the bargain table. I'd been away from comics for over 15 years, and didn't really know any of the characters. With closeout prices of $2-3.00 for NEW figures on the card, I was hooked. I bought a dozen that day and went home to order more tags.
Is the collection growing?
I returned a few more times, and stockpiled more Warriors. Eventually the inventory was thinned, and there were no more to buy. I have about 6 left to release.
How is their mission coming along?
How do a variety of characters, from vastly different storylines and histories, blend together? I'm not really creative, but I created OneWorld. It is based on a log by victorymike (Thanks !) and involves Rodents Of Unusual Size (R.O.U.S.) So Ravyn can tend to her Vampire business, and Wonder Woman can look for Clark Kent, but when the Rodents are threatening, the Warrior Women unite.
The male series will be next. I haven't decided if they should be a different storyline, or if they should have missions to track the Women. That sounds kind of fun. I like the idea of Riff Raff (Rocky Horror Picture Show) going after Spider-Woman. I guess that may be a future article?
