Hi. Let me introduce myself. My name is MoHo, the Ape, Valentine Travel Bug. I know that is a long name for such a little monkey, but the moniker fits me very well. You see, I was named for, and in the honor of, Mopar and Geo Ho. I have seen great adventures, but I seem to be far away from home at the moment. I have got to be back in Connecticut for a very important geocache event next year.
But first, a little background information. I was reading in the forums the continuing saga of Geocaching as an Online Dating Service. GeoHo and Mopar had met, attended a hydro-event cache together and continued their relationship to its present level. In a post on the thread she stated, "So, here we are in my cozy little condo, happy as two monkeys in a tree."
When I read that, I knew I had to convince the owner of my travel bug tag to dedicate me in their honor. I became a geocaching travel bug!
At first, I thought of starting out on a journey from my home state of Georgia with a goal of making it to Connecticut to Mopar and Geo Ho. But, I read of an event cache (really a birthday bash for Mopar) being held on Valentine's Day. So, I contacted Geo Ho and mailed myself to Connecticut so I could get to the event in time.
Geo Ho and Mopar took me under their wings and we had a great time as they would show me the ins and outs of geocaching in the Northeast. Traveling together, we visited over 100 caches all over Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island. We had a grand time!
Then, someone said, "Road Trip!"
We packed our bags and took off to Vegas, Baby... I got to tour the strip with Geo Ho and Mopar and even took a side trip to Arizona for some desert caches.
Then, back home in Connecticut, we planned a monthly event cache, Wings and Beer Nights. I really enjoyed those! As I hung around Mopar and Geo Ho, I noticed how happy they were together. They started talking about another event cache. I got fitted for a tuxedo! Do you know how hard it is to find a tux to fit a four-inch monkey? (Get it? Monkey Suit).
Then someone said, "Road Trip!"
We were flying again, this time to California! We climbed the hills around Los Angeles (Hey, I can see the HOLLYWOOD sign from here!) to a very special cache for GeoHo! This was her 400th cache find! She was so happy, she gave me a kiss!
Wait, a minute! Where are you guys going? You can't leave me here!
So, here I am, in California! I've got my left thumb in the air, looking to hitch a ride back to Connecticut. I have a seat reserved at the head table, and the deposit is paid on the tuxedo. So, if you see me on the trail, help me head east! I would hate to have one of my evil brothers taking my place in the reception line!
