Claire Delavigne, aka Planet, is famous for the wraps she brings along on caching treks. Her most recent fans are those who participated in the Hudson Highlands Jaunt, such as HartClimbs, Batonka, JMBella, Briansnat, KBer>, and Team Shibby. Some foods just aren't appropriate for carrying in backpacks while geocaching; they just don't hold up to extreme heat, cold, or long hikes. Planet graciously offers her recipe here so that every cacher can pack a delicious meal that will hold up on even the most arduous cache hunt.

To make the wraps:
First, spread your "spread" (mustard, mayo, cream cheese, or hummous, etc.) very thinly and evenly across the flour tortilla to within 1/2 inch from the edge. Next, place single layers of the meat, lettuce, cheese, etc. on the tortilla. Don't overload it. Starting with the edge closest to you, roll up the wrap tightly, keeping the fillings inside. Hold the wraps closed with two toothpicks. Slice them in the center for two sandwiches. You can pack many wraps in a gallon-sized Ziploc-type bag. It doesn't matter if they get a bit compressed, but make sure they don't get squashed completely. They can easily be carried in a backpack. If you are using mayo, eat them before they become too warm. Bon Apetit! And cache you later!
