We check it through the day and even check it very late at night.
We cancel all our family plans when there is a new cache in town
So we can be the first to find by searching everywhere around.
We've taken travel bugs along on family trips to photograph
And planned a whole vacation just to find a special geocache.
We go on hikes to places we would otherwise not know about
And carry garbage bags along so we can do "cache in, trash out."
We save our old containers if we think they'll make a geocache
And search for "Where's George" dollars when we're looking through our petty cash.
We are a bit unusual, a rather rare anomaly.
We are the very model of a geocaching family.
We've figured out the accuracy of our GPS device
And how the weather changes it, the rain and snow and falling ice.
We always know our walking speed and longitude and latitude
And when the sun is setting and our bearing and our altitude.
We know how far we've traveled and the time the sun will surely rise.
We know how many satellites are circling up in the skies.
We've learned the local history, deciphered ancient hieroglyphs,
Base 20 numbers, cryptic clues and even Tolkein runic script.
We visit parks and hiking trails, the kind you don't see every day
And study trees and flowers and the birds we spot along the way.
We're learning math and history and science and geography.
We are the very model of a geocaching family.
