As a recurring feature, Today’s Cacher poses questions to kids and publishes selected answers. Their views provide information and humor, and at times, remind us how insightful young people can be. This month, we asked: "What would you NOT like to find in a cache, and why?"
Kaleb, age: 9
"I would hate to find spider webs because they're gross and keys that I don't know what they go to, or chap stick because it has someone else's germs on it."
Stephanie, age: 10
"Worms, dead leaves, bugs, all boy stuff, and spiders."
Lost one, age: 6
"Food cause the animals would have already eaten some of it."
Rebecca, age: 7
"Junk, like pennies and broken toys, because that's not fair."
Mark, age: 13
"Barbie dolls because they are nasty."
Jordan, age 13 "Oh, I don't know. . . a rattlesnake?"
Ridley, age 5 "I wouldn't want to find broken toys. Broken toys aren't any fun."
Little leprechaun, age: 9
"Lighters and matches because they are dangerous. Cigarettes or anything else that's not appropriate for all ages."
Anastasia, age: 7
"A CD without a case because it could have gotten ruined."
Alexander, age: 5
"A baby doll because they're girlie stuff."
Corey, age: 12
"Food because animals could damage the cache and be problems for cachers."
Evan, age: 14
"I don't want to find trash in a cache and water isn't good either."
Megan, age: 11
"I would not like to find any objects in a cache that are not supposed to be in it. My dad always takes lighters out of caches."
Michael, age: 8
"I would not want to find broken toys or books."
Andilea, age: 8
"No trash or things that no one can use or would want."
Wray Clan, age: 14
"Anything alive." (I guess that means hamsters too!)
