GSMGC is a group of fun-loving, outdoor-minded people from all age groups and backgrounds who like to geocache and want to help others do the same. We want to share our interest in using modern technology (GPS and the Internet) to encourage and foster an appreciation of the outdoors, and to promote good stewardship of the land and environment that we all enjoy. GSMGC is run completely by volunteers who freely donate their time and talent. We welcome feedback and involvement by anyone geocaching in the Volunteer State - Tennessee.

Membership in the GSMGC is open to anyone with a sense of adventure and responsibility. As the Great Smoky Mountains Geocaching Club is a relatively new organization, there are no stringent membership requirements or dues. Eventually we may charge a nominal $5 per year fee to cover expenses involving the website and room / pavilion rentals. Until membership is more clearly defined, all you need to do is attend one of our event caches and provide your name and email address. We will then create an account for you on our member forums and stats page. Your information will never be sold, rented, traded or otherwise used for any purpose other than tracking our membership and an occasional email about special geocaching events here in East Tennessee.
