Happy Birthday Utah Geocaching!
This event will be held to commemorate the placement of Utah's oldest and longest surviving geocache. On August 27, 2000 Larry Nielson, aka Leaper64, placed a 5 gallon bucket in the ground near a spot where his family had enjoyed camping for years. He recorded the location with his GPS, and posted the waypoint coordinates on Geocaching.com. And Geocaching came to Utah. Four years, and nearly three THOUSAND caches later, cachers from all over the state will visit this revered location to pay homage to this venerable cache. Please bring something nice to contribute to the cache.
